pretty interested in the extent to which this mess (I don’t give a shit about people’s clothes but it’s striking) is be deliberate. would be weird for people so in tune with public perception, and with so much fgd data, to do this by accident. slightly obsessed with how these non-traditional images are doing the job electorally (trumps face, bj’s hair, patel’s smirk, etc). the rebel non-conformist look working in politics is one of the big surprises of this kind of era for me.

Little incongruous things to mess with your perception of the norm - it’s got to be some nudge bullshit or something. Why does Steve Bannon wear multiple shirts? Why does Cummings rock about like that in the public eye? Why is everyone dishevelled and a bit uncanny? Sure, maybe they just don’t give a rats, but it could just as easily be down to some behaviour psych thing about destabilising people.

Planning regs have been relaxed to allow pubs, bars etc to offer takeaway services for beer and food without needing planning permission. My local opened up again yesterday and we got a takeaway roast dinner which was sensational.

While we’re on Dominic Cummings’ look, someone described him as looking like a tortoise with food poisoning. Thought that was pretty good.

This is Varadkar apparently in Phoenix park at the weekend.

In theory: he’s done nothing wrong as he was apparently only standing next to his partner (who he lives with) and was 2m away from 2 other perople, forming the max group of 4 allowed.

Bit weird though
