What’s this? Facebook tried to advertise it to me under the guise of a survey that asked me if I’d heard of really famous internet stuff with that being the only thing that wasn’t massively well known so I’d immediately search for what it is…
It’s a Facebook thing that basically seeks to give people in developing countries free access to a tiny subset of the internet.
What do I get out of it?

…a tiny subset of the internet controlled by Facebook, yep. It’s being marketed as a philanthropic gesture but is really a way to create new Facebook users who can’t use anything other than a very limited version of Facebook.

I think it’s only fair that people in developing countries should have the opportunity to not be on facebook.
