I agree. I genuinely think Antics is as good as the debut and it also contains their best song (Not Even Jail, obv).

Also: I REALLY dislike OLTA (mainly because No I In Threesome and Rest My Chemistry have two of the most embarrassingly cringe-worthy sets of lyrics ever).

I’m not sure you can come into an Interpol appreciation thread and start criticising lyrics. I’m pretty sure lyrical sense is very low on most Interpol fans’ list of priorities.

This album is not good. His voice sounds soooooooo bad, guy can’t sing anymore and they’re trying to cover it up with reverb. First couple songs are actually okay but not good enough to come back and listen to. Shame, I thought they made a decent comeback with El Pintor having some good songs on it but this is boring.

I think his natural singing voice is fine but in interviews he always says how after OLTA he got a singing coach who pushes him out of his comfort zone - hence the recent silly bits.

It’s like, mate, you sounds like the dude in low register and embarrassing anywhere else. A loved one needs to tell him.

Yes can’t stand the production. I guess they were trying to do something different with the higher singing?

Enjoyed the Albert Hall last night but hearing the new stuff live has not convinced me- Interpol by numbers. Quite like Flight of Fancy though.
