We always watch it at halloween, and it kick starts the sort of autumnal into fullblown christmas thing. You have to watch the unchristmassy christmas films first and build up.

actually not sure why I enjoyed it now I think about it, the acting was bad, don’t remember any memorable action scenes, predator wasn’t scary and I didn’t care about any of the characters.

A reasonable one. Worst case scenario you dislike it but worth a watch. Better than most action movies, especially considering some of the crap that does big business these days.
