I really love the Paul Simon Songbook, which is demo versions of loads of the Simon and Garfunkel songs. He’s such an incredible lyricist.

Check out this version of Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes that’s just the vocals and bass!

Nope.

The Sebright Arms was taken over in March last year by the people who run the Old Blue Last, so most of the shows are now “3 or 4 vaguely similar bands” with free entry. Nothing in their listings has tickled my fancy so far.

Shouldn’t complain - even a few years ago, the idea of tracking down decent IPA anywhere other than a specialist beer shop would have been improbable…

There’s a new booze shop / bar in Catford. They focus more on their own “handmade bottled cocktails” and it’s pretty nice in there, but the beer selection is a bit… unadventurous imho, they mainly stock bottles from local places like Brixton / Brockley / Four Pure and when we walked past last night I told plasticmike I thought it was “boring” and we shouldn’t bother going in. He said I was awful.
