Evening! We had a car fire on our road earlier. A stolen car, according to Facebook. Completely missed it, but did get stuck in the subsequent gridlock.

Well, we were supposed to be going for our meal this evening. Shortly after 5, while She was getting ready, I heard a furious, “Nooooo! Are you fucking kidding me?!” Cry coming from upstairs. I ran up, fearing something might be wrong or someone had died or Gnome’s hair straighteners had been plugged in this whole time or Winnie had made herself comfy on Gnome just as she was preparing to stand up, (I run up stairs slowly, but safely) but the news I was met with was even worse than I could have imagined; the restaurant hasn’t reopened after Christmas.
Thankfully there are 3 other branches of the restaurant, but they are each a drive away, so we’re going to have to plan for that another day. To commiserate ourselves, we went to Spoons for a cost effective, effort-free alternative to a romantic meal for two. Hopefully the other restaurants will have the same attitudes to vouchers expiring.

Last proper day of work I needed to do before our honeymoon which I feel like I keep banging on about, sorry. Would only have stuff to moan about otherwise.
Next few days will be packing and fielding panicked calls from clients who suddenly realise they need things urgently.
Tonight: fishcakes, caponata, beer, traitors.

We went 4 years ago and loved it so much. We’ll be taking the little guy this time and have every confidence it’s a place he’ll get on really well. He’s a summer kid.

Any good? Love schnitzel. There’s a place by eric’s that specialise in it but the veggie one was like a cauliflower steak or something… which sounds lovely but schnitzel it aint
