Peanuts are definitely savoury.

I am quite partial to Sunpat (and similar) but generally get whole nut butter these days. I still can’t agree they are savoury.

Assuming you mean peanut… YES.

If I had a peanut butter sandwich for lunch (which I never do because no) I would eat the accompanying crisps first (savoury) and then the sandwich (sweet).

But… (good)peanut butter is peanuts and salt. No other ingredients. You agree peanuts are savoury.

So… grinding peanuts makes them sweet?

It’s just making it creamy!
Creamy doesn’t equal sweet!
The joy when peanut butter is in something, like a reeces peanut butter cup, is because it’s a mix of sweet (chocolate) and salty (peanut butter)
