When I was about 8 and I met Percy and Rita.

I did a project called Granandaland for the new site owners where I got to explore the whole abandoned site and write a sort of travel journal about it. Went in the old cinema and they still had Alien in the projector. It was ace. Got to dick about all over the shop and went in the underground canal as well that’s been sealed up for a very long time. I met the guy who created the tour and he said they wanted to have glass bottom boats on the canal through the city. The canals are just full of stolen goods and shopping trolleys.

When my mate used to work on both Corrie and Stars in their Eyes think there was a crossover show of Corrie stars singing on SITE…And she said Rita was very very excited about the prospect Of “blacking up” for whoever she wanted to portray. :roll_eyes::roll_eyes::roll_eyes:

Anyway, during the project I did I discovered some old home videos of the tour on YouTube. Kind of boring but what a blast from the past.

What a ramble.

Oh and not Corrie but Granada - Judy Finnegan slept with Ike Turner when she was just starting out, he was on tour and became quite enraptured with her one night. When he was in Paris that week he wired her money to fly over to meet him, guess she realised he was a shitbag and she collected the money and went and bought herself a fur coat instead. Queen (well, not for the fur but the sentiment).

Jnr had a playdate with Judy’s granddaughter last week. Going to love it when she’s older (and I force them to remain friends) and she can get me hot goss like that.

She had a LOT of framed photos of her onscreen wedding day to the serial killer guy in her dressing room, to the point he got a bit scared. She screamed at me for sitting on a bench that was ‘there for my shopping bags not YOU!! Am I supposed to put them ON.THE.FLOOR?’. Nothing really scandalous, but the vibe in the room always felt tense when she was in it.

Can I also use this space to say that when McKellan was on Corrie the crew all bought him some thank you gifts, that were no doubt absolute tat but not really the point, he threw them all in a bin in his dressing room (that had no lid) on his last day. Bit shitty that, isn’t it? Could have binned them where they wouldn’t immediately find out.
