The spirit of punk would suggest everyone stands together in solidarity which clearly isn’t happening. The spirit of punk would have led to all the bands at Glastonbury coming out in support of Bob vylan this week which didn’t happen. The spirit of punk in the mainstream would mean more bands and arts at the high level taking a stand. We’d have more bands making appearances on tv shows and the like openly supporting Palestinians and speaking out.
I haven’t watched the turnstile performances on the chat shows but all this talk of are they or are they talking hardcore band ends if they didn’t even acknowledge the genocide. Has there been a moment in the past two years comparable to Sinead O’Connor testing up the picture of the pipe for instance?
I don’t think it is back (of course it never went away on one level but i don’t think that’s what you’re asking)
