Ryanair can’t run their normal Stansted schedules to time, tomorrow is going to be absolute bedlam.

If you can get him to Heathrow or even Luton instead it’s very easy to then get to Gatwick or surrounding area (The Bedford to Brighton train line goes through Luton Airport Parkway and Gatwick Airport; coaches from Heathrow to Brighton stop at Gatwick or he can get the underground to Victoria from Heathrow and then hop on the Gatwick Express.)

Thank you. We’re only in Kent and there are decent trains from Luton, Heathrow or Stansted so it’ll be fine. It’s just funny that I paid extra so I could easily drive to Gatwick!

Would definitely be below 400’ 1km from touchdown. 1km from the ‘airport’ (assuming this means the boundary), maybe not - depends on how far the boundary is from the threshold - but certainly close enough. Like you, I’m amazed the rules aren’t a lot more restrictive.

“We have had the police, we have had the military seeking to bring this drone down for the last 24 hours and to date that has not been successful.”- Gatwick Airport COO

I’ve literally seen a seagull bring one down before

Someone needs to make a video of the drone flying around soundtracked by Benny Hill music

Followed by a load of coppers with nets on sticks.

“This is what can happen when a plane crosses paths with a drone, it happened last week in Mexico”

Shiiiitttt. Fucking hell can you imagine if one brought down a plane.

From the debate a few years ago (when Sam Gyimah - sat on the front bench here - suggested that eagles could be used near prisons to bring down drug-carrying drones):

Eagles are being used at Dutch airports apparently. Saw one take a drone down on the news tonight.

But not dogs barking though, presumably…

That’ll buff right out

I’m not sure it’s too good for the vroom-vroom box.

yeah, thinking about a bit, it is proper mad that there’s been so little information coming out about it

like surely if it was just one dickhead locally that person would surely either have been caught by now, or they’d have at the very least stopped what they were doing

There aren’t hundreds of poor quality mobile phone videos of a drone pissing about near an airport on the internet either, which I would’ve expected.

struggling to comprehend this tbh.

Am i being really dumb? It’s just one drone and they’ve not been able to deal with it all day? Don’t get how that’s possible.
