Great run from Hawkins in the marathon overnight. I don’t think there was ever a chance of him getting a medal, but he’ll have scared a few people on the way in his attempt to avoid a sprint finish.

I think that the Olympics will have a stronger field though, as quite a few of the top runners skipped this race in favour of Berlin. A top 5 finish should be the target.
