Was talking about ‘neoliberalism, like jeremy corbyn’.

Went on the most recent big remain march.

My boss is an absolute top lad. Massive labour supporter and he plays board games with his bf over a webcam because he’s moved to New Zealand for work. One of the nicest people I know. Really gutted he’s leaving soon.

Had a couple of Tory bosses. Described themselves as “pragmatists” which in their case was code for: “I tell people I’m clever but I’m thick as shite and force my staff to do my work for me.

Not that I’ve got any bad feelings, obviously

My direct manager recently joined the Labour party but is campaigning for the Lib Dems in a LD/Tory marginal… I think his heart is with them anyway.

My department boss reckons he’s not a Tory voter but he really hates Corbyn, uses his wife being Ukrainian and therefore a victim of Soviet socialism as an excuse for dismissing Labour out of hand. Reckon he will vote Tory, LD at best.

The big company boss is the weirdest man alive, could be a genuine fascist or a anarcho-green. Impossible to say.

Doubt it as most of the raison d’etre of where I work is to help people affected by their austerity bullshit. In fact some of our staff are nothing short of heroes for their tireless work helping disabled people affected by benefit sanctions etc. Though Hyndburn voted 66.2% to leave the EU so we don’t always get it right round here…

Combination of green, lib dem and labour. Myself and one of the other registrars are firmly left-wing, the rest of the team varies from lifelong labour to centrist melt, plus a couple of Plaids. I suspect there may be one or two of those ‘shy Tory’ creatures around, but it’s not a place you would want to admit to it.

supervisor is a green
actual head of the university is on the boards of chevron and barclays. definitely a comrade

What’s the Swedish word for Tory?

There isn’t really a Swedish word for Tory. I guess the nearest is ‘borgerlig’ which is kind of like bourgeois and literally means coming from or belonging to the ‘borg’ where a borg is like a fortified building or medieval town. Landed gentry/castle people basically

The Borg are definitely tory

The borg are all about radical collectivism though

Only a Tory thinks true communism means we lose our individuality though.

True, and now that I think about it, in the film isn’t it revealed that they’re all controlled by one ruler thus their pretence at equality is a sham?

I suspect he’s a secret Tory, or in the transition to becoming one. He talked at the Tory conference a few months ago and his dad was one. Michael Gove was in our office last friday but I cant find out why, and thankfully I’d gone home by that point.

Was he not just trying to talk his way in?

They’ve been telling him stop calling himself that and stick to the official title of “Prime Minister”.

I pretty sure she isn’t anymore than all bosses are tories

As I’ve said before my boss is a (white) South African. On the one hand I’m absolutely certain he’s not a tory. On the other I still very much don’t want to interrogate his politics more deeply.

Read this and initially got confused thinking it was Ron Jeremy.
It’s early and I need coffee.
