Likes football, Bruce Springsteen and the pub (although the ever-increasing price of a pint horrifies him).

Yeah but how would you know?

Fuck. If I didn’t have such a cool surname I would change it right now.

I’m assuming my sister told him I had a kid but no guarantees so that round is void for now.

How is this 50/50!? He started a software company in the 80’s! That’s almost the dictionary definition of a nerd!

He’s a bike wanker so probably worse than a nerd. Does a self organised charity ride of some sort each year (london-Paris, Portsmouth-Dover-Brussels and London-Gibraltar to name a few) for a cool local charity.

Apart from that, he likes camping in his vw camper thing and lazing in his hot tub. Chelsea fan though.

I have (had) an incredibly cool surname. Foreign, four syllables, would have sounded absolutely amazing with “Dr” in front of it, and was the basis of a nickname I had at school that I was more known by than my actual name. Still did it.

I’m off for a victory lap of the office now, cardigan pulled over my head.

Obeying should read lobbying

It was the naval history bit that swung it tbh.

My dad would get on right well with your dad

Fluent in Spanish, can get by in French and Italian, can read Latin and Portuguese.

Still a member of the Labour Party and goes to meetings, reckons he used to be a communist.

Always reading a history book.

He’s big on foreign films but I’ve never seen him laugh so much as when we watched Borat together.

He’s only outdone by my “one bottle of wine doesn’t get you drunk” mum

Notts County

My dad’s dad worked in the Boots factory all his life and my dad pretty much rebelled by becoming middle class once he finished school.

That turned out longer than I expected

Trust your feelings

I don’t know how to ? I don’t spend enough time here. I don’t know what’s going on half the time or how to work stuff.

plays with the cat most of the time
walks to the village up the road once a week
reads pretty much anything
holds political opinions which would be far outside of what is deemed acceptable in NI (generally quite lefty tho)
glasses
likes a nice pair of clogs

Absolutely. He worked for Apple Computers all through the 90s. Now he’s a priest. And he reads lots of sci-fi novels etc. Massive nerd.

Hang on, is this why you’re so defensive about Stevenage?

Not really. Works as a civil engineer, so wears a lot of hi-vis. Doesn’t really have any interests, apart from shouting at the rugby on the TV and driving my siblings to and from social occasions. Doesn’t really listen to modern music, apart from retro-looking bands like The Strypes and Nathaniel something and the Nightsweats. Goes to the pub regularly and upon reaching the ale taps, is guaranteed to take a sharp intake of breath, rub his hands together and say ‘ooh what have we got here then?’
