So, right, we had a load of industrial drying equipment running in our flat for 2 weeks, the 2nd week of which we stayed in an airbnb at the insurance company’s expense because the machines were making the flat too hot. It was 2 dryer things, 1 dehumidifier, and 2 fans to direct air from the former towards the latter. The whole time I was worried the dryers or dehumidifier would catch fire and burn the place down because they were pumping out so much heat.
Yesterday the contractors came and checked the moisture levels, OK’d it and took the machines away. After they left I noticed that one of the fans, which were just normal big fans similar to this…
… has burnt little black scorch marks into our carpet where its metal feet were touching it!
Feel vindicated now about being worried about the equipment starting a fire even if I was wrong about which specific one got hot enough to burn shit

Went on a second date tonight. Went well. Nice when you really click with someone isn’t it? Not sure whether it’ll develop into something romantic or not but the company was really good. We went to see Gregory’s Girl. Top, top film.
