it's just fucking embarrassing how good a record 'Murmur' by REM is really, tbh, tbf

No point even trying to better it.

And of course they never did, you’d have to be an idiot to think so.

Don’t even like REM.

Absolute 10/10 album.

Life’s Rich Pageant > Monster = Fables of the Reconstruction > New Adventures in Hi-fi > Green > Murmur > Reckoning > Document > Out of Time > Automatic for the People >>> Up >>>> The Rest

But, yeah. It’s a pretty fucking good record.

A fair argument for the best debut album of all time in this poster’s opinion.

fantastic album, definitely up there with their very best (my favourite R.E.M. album changes week to week but Murmur is always in their somewhere).

the first 4 albums are the best but Murmur might be my bottom of those 4

Murmur’s probably my favourite, I think it’s really something special as a whole thing, but then they have such a ridiculous amount of great records I wouldn’t swear to it.

Happy 40th birthday to ‘Murmur’ today.
