 What does ‘slap up’ mean?

Is it possible to have a slap up trifle?

Means decent apparently! I just like using it because it’s the usual response Eddie gives in Bottom regarding food.

If you can redeem on booze probs just rinse it in an All Bar One next time I’m out with a group of mates.

Take my elderly friend to Toby Carvery and treat her and @avery (our driver) to a roast with half of it. Then take @avery on a date to M&C with the other £50.
Not sure what we’d get. Need to look at the menu.

Never been but there’s a vintage Inns on a decent spot on one of my cycling routes so I’d probs just stop in for lunch there on some bike rides. Thanks

Actually there’s a browns in the city centre with tables outside by the peace Gardens and I’m going to watch a bike race there tomorrow so I’d buy me and my pals several pints

i’d go to all bar one with a mate and drink as much as we could

why would i do anything else?

I’d go to All Bar One and party like it was 1999.

I think that was the last time either the bar or me was relevant.

Either that or go to the Toby Carvery and ask for a “slap up meal”. It’s a phrase not heard too often.

Or ever in a Toby.

(I don’t mind them tbf, just that’s a hell of a description for the food there)
