Debating what to do about my flat in Newcastle. I haven’t been there for nearly four weeks now, but obvs still paying rent on it (brilliant). Paid up on the 11th for a further month, but I’m struggling to see a situation where I’m there before… end of May? June? July?

I don’t have a lot of stuff there and we have a pal with a car that would probably help me move whatever is left up. And tbh the market there being so heavily student-led means prices are probably going to crash come autumn, so chances are I’ll be able to get a pretty similar flat for less money if I do end up moving back.

Like obvs if I do give it up and end up moving back sooner rather than later it would be a load of faff. But then even two months of not paying rent would still be a big old bag of cash.

Just dunno what to do?!!

Also concerned I just wouldn’t go back and would end up a full-time home worker, getting progressively weirder.

If only, :sob: but fat chance getting any brownies when we have no flour. My sourdough starter is on rations. Don’t worry, she has been stocking up on chocolate for them, as soon as we’re back in the plain grain.

Should’ve said, the terms of terminating my lease (if I’ve read them properly) are that i have to give a month’s notice that starts from the next rent payment date.

So if I give notice now it’ll be technically from 11 May, so I’ll have pay again to run until 10 June. This is the main quandary. If I end up moving back in July it will all have been pretty pointless.

Could’ve done this last week but couldn’t make a decision so just did nothing instead :sunglasses:
