We have a weird Yale that you can double lock from the outside but you need the key to undo this on the inside…except that something must have broken in that long before we moved in and you can’t do this. Luckily we can leave by the back way but I have climbed out of the kitchen window a couple of times rather than spend 3 minutes walking all the way round the block to undo it.

When my wife did this I had to walk from Angel all the way back to Haggerston to give her some keys. The round trip took just over an hour. If you loved your pregnant wife at all I assume you’d do the same.

An old-school deadbolt that only has a keyhole on the outside. The inside is covered over (maybe painted over? - I don’t know whether by design or not). Usually she leaves the house before me, so I lock up on autopilot. It’s obviously not very safe though.

Just remembered that bit on Peep Show where Mark and Jeremy get locked in and Jeremy finds an object and he’s going ‘Look Mark, here’s a thing!’ as though it’s like a video game/puzzle and the object will help them get out hahah

You had to climb out from inside to unlock the door. Once it was unlocked I just walked back in to close the window :slight_smile:

A mate locked me and another mate in his flat recently while he went to drive his gf somewhere. Didn’t question it initially because we had no need to be anywhere but then the pizzas we had ordered came earlier than expected, and the window was locked shut. We were stuck in a situation very similar to the episode of Peep Show @barleysugar mentioned. We stopped short of getting him to put them through the letterbox slice by slice - he had to leave them outside until the mate who’s flat it was got back 5 nervewracking minutes later. Stressful.

Amazing! Were you just gazing at the pizzas through the letterbox for 5 minutes?
