First by far
great film, great scene
first time i saw life aquatic i thought it was brilliant. watched it again about a year later and it did nothing for me.
Surprised David Lynch short released on Netflix
Itās batshit, I adored it but then I would
This is so good
That poor monkey!
having the time of his life
havenāt watched it yet, but Iām really hoping this means thereās something else on the way
there were meetings with Netflix, which I donāt think were specifically to do with producing this, since if Iām right this had already been screened a couple of times before Netflix got their hands on it. My fingers are very much crossed theyāre going to fund that Antelope film mentioned in the Room to Dream book
Ok so one or two of you might be aware how much I fucking loved Uncut Gems, it was the first film by the Safdie brothers I had seen.
Anyway I just watched Good Time, wow, thatās fucking excellent as well. These two are fucking exciting film makers
That whole ending bit was incredible
the song!
Daddy Long Legs is really good too, inexplicably featuring Lee Ranaldoās family prominently
āJack Cruz as himselfā
waves is really earnest and slick, definitely an American movie. soundtrack/ music references were a bit too much, music video vibes. thought it was alright
Waves - Very good IMO. Canāt believe it manages to pull off the trick that it does. It is absolutely gorgeous to look at but also completely anxiety inducing at times and then very quiet and pensive in the next moment. Itās walking a tightrope the whole time and I can understand people thinking it falls off but it worked for me. A few too many needle drops perhaps but the performances and cinematography make it work.
As much as it made me feel a bit sick, the spinny camera sequence at the start was a hell of a way to kick off.
It made a statement thatās for sure (I was kind of thinking āoh shit, this is gonna be badā during that bit though, was glad when it ended and fucking Animal Collective stopped playing)
Yeah but there were at least three more Animal Collective songs in the rest of the film!
(I liked that though)
