Watched All The Presidents Men for the first time last night. It’s really gripping for a film that’s mostly 2 men making phone calls and writing things down.

She was in a terrible film called Splice which was apparently part of the reason she quit acting

That film is utterly bizarre

I really do not know who it was intended for

I remember it being a film when I was at uni that a couple of people saw and said how odd it was but I can’t see it being discussed anywhere else but that

Just watched Over The Moon, which despite essentially being a big old mish-mash of Disney/Pixar steals, was really lovely.

I like the film Splice :flushed:

Great film

Greed - not sure whether it was heavy-handed or underwritten (probably both), but it wasn’t up to much regardless.

Nobody Knows absolutely broke me. I don’t think I had any tears left in my body by the end. The only other film that dismantled my whole being in the same way was The Elephant Man

The Wayward Girl- Liv Ullman’s debut, about a young 'couple on the run in a cabin. Pretty good, the film picks up when a third party enters the fold about 2/3rds in. Nothing remarkable but a decent watch

Bloody Nose, Empty Pockets - argh wanted to love this, the concept is right up my street but it left me a bit cold. I don’t think the patrons are interesting enough for a full 90 minutes, and the film constantly switches around characters so its hard to get too invested. Really want to go to a bar now though

How did the docu/non-docu aspects work or affect your enjoyment?

It does feel very much like the people have been told what to do and what the conversations should revolve around. It’s not presented at all like a documentary really

Mr late-to-the-party here just watched Black Panther. Bloody great innit

Nocturnal Animals was the best film I’ve seen in a little while. Didn’t watch it at the time because I’d got it into my head that it was gonna be like Spotlight or something.
That cast could make other films that are also good.

It’s a great film. Saw it a few years ago.

Didn’t know what type of film to expect but it wasn’t that one and really liked it for being different from the rest.

Nightcrawler is equally impressive too if you haven’t seent that.
