Quite like De Gea. Should and could have gone elsewhere several times but stayed. Never really kicked off or done much off the pitch, just gets on with his job. Think it’s weird that people think he’s a lucky goalkeeper as well rather than just having superior positioning and natural smarts.
Find it absolutely ludicrous that anyone anywhere has ever described him as the best goalkeeper in the world however. To compare him to Oblak or Ter Stegen or Alisson, or before that Neuer, for me, is potty. I’d struggle to find a place for him in the top ten or fifteen. He’s never had the all-round game of a world class goalkeeper, and it feels a bit like the game’s moved on and left him behind.
