have to admit to being a bit of a puzzler. loves a spot of puzzling of a cold winter’s* evening. a delightful pass-time.

*either winter will do, but I find the overlapping section of winter the most appropriate time to dabble in puzzles.

How many winters do you live through in Reading?

just your everyday 2, with the standard overlap, although to be fair they’re not like the winters you get in more rural parts, like Swindon, or Banbury.

“conversation”?? ooh check out Talky McChatface here.

What’s wrong with drinking in awkward silence like normal people?

Come on mate, if I expected one person to have my back here against the marckee/h_y_g hordes I was you.

Mate, I’ve never had a conversation in my life.

I like jigsaws. The main problem though is that they require a clear surface to do them on, and that’s just not the way my home works.

Knocked this one out on boxing day. Harder than it looks, so many shades of grey and beige

I got well into jigsaws for a period at the start of lockdown. We were all swapping them when we could, they became a precious commodity.

This badboy here took me a good week, including one silly night where I stayed up til 5am at the kitchen table pounding beer and port listening to the Strokes and the war on drugs.

Let me tell you, the sky and the sea were just no fun at all

Then I did a smaller one of scarborough and gave up halfway through, never to touch a Jigsaw again

Nice.

The dogs attack it while you do it? Because you can get Jigsaw Mats that you roll up between sessions to preserve the puzzle and pack it away?

We kicked its arse

Started my first grown up Jigger yesterday. 1000 pieces of a Joan Miro painting. Turns out, quite hard.

Got the TV a personalised ravensburger 1000 piece job for Christmas cos she loves a good jig. It was really difficult apparently cos both our kids were wearing entirely black outfits in the picture I used. Not sure if she was cross about my choice of picture or my influence in raising goth kids, probably both.
