Imagine 3 months before Sgt. Pepper’s is released this punk plays like this. It’s game changing isn’t it? Whilst he does have what are considered to be classic albums I just wouldn’t stick a Hendrix album on, but imagine being there at that time and witnessing this. Dude could play that guitar.
Might be worth adding RIP to the title
I always thought the playing with his teeth was a myth. Appears to be quite true.
He was good at the guitar
New album finally?
More likely than a new Boards of Canada.
Always thought Hendrix was massively underrated as a singer
Remember a friend saying to me ‘It doesn’t matter if you can’t sing, just look at Hendrix’
Which I guess he maybe has a sort of teeny tiny point but also… what?
Lol
I just love the man’s voice
It’s like he establishes some immediate hook, instantly familiar, then it doesn’t matter where he goes, it turns into some sprawling yet still somehow tight loop which he can return to and shoot off again from. Literally like a painting, chucking colour everywhere.
my little hot take is
his rhythm/chord playing is the best ever, his written solos are great, but his free-er wiling out improv solos are often real bad
Yep, Little Wing is the all timer for me. All the little embellishments…!
one of those rare musicians who cannot be replicated
His mainstream career was about 3 years, given his legacy - and impact, that is all kinds of wild.
Witnessing a Jimi Hendrix concert on horseback seems a bit OTT
Incredible guitarist, shit albums. Wish he’d had a better band to play with.

Don’t think he reached his potential as an album artist, but Electric Ladyland isn’t shit at all
I think we’re going to have to agree to disagree on this one. There are four, maybe five, songs in total that I’d ever listen to again on it. There’s so much meandering crap on it that I can’t listen to it in full.
