I’m going to see this next week - I’m looking forward to dropping in a VERY hot take once everyone else has completely moved on

more time and one podcast to digest, and at the risk of understatement i must reluctantly conclude it is the most profound and staggering cinematic experience of the year, a superlative commentary on alienation and urban capitalist decay, a meta-textual statement on the joker as cultural totem, a window through which we may look at ourselves, to find only ourselves gazing back, eyes darkly alight with haunted mayhem.

saw this last night. really enjoyed it. thought phoenix was fucking excellent, couldn’t take my eyes off him. not that it needed highlighting again but his performance did highlight just how fucking dreadful jared leto’s joker was.

the harley quinn flick looks absolutely turf, all the trailers did tbh

turf?!

i watched suicide squad for the first time a few weeks back, jesus sufferin fuck, now that’s a fucking dreadful film.

wait is turf good? or bad? i meant it in a bad way. it looked awful.

yeah suicide squad is really really dreadful. lolling at the rumour that part of leto’s motivation in forming his new cult was feeling stung by the nonstop dunking he received from the public for his twisted antics on set.

fuck knows, that’s why i was asking.
Leto is a fud.

margot robbie is the most ill served in that film, she’s a proper movie star having to play second fiddle to that fud

Just seen it and it was better than I expected. Found bits of it really unpleasant to watch both for how sad they were (His disappointingly awful stand up) and how unexpectedly nasty some bits were (:scissors:) . Strange to think that people criticised the Dark Knight for being too nihilistic

Also ended up sat near a kid with a crazy Joker laugh on the bus home :grimacing:

Just remembered, really enjoyed the joker having a nice sit-down in his fridge

OH YEAH THAT BIT, that kind of irked me because my understanding is that it’s impossible to open a fridge from the inside so how the fuck did he get out?

It’s too dark

pretty sure i could open my fridge from the inside

What I heard (which might be bs) is that the the inside of the fridge is like a vacuum, the suction that keeps it closed and cold means you can’t open it. Anyone want to test this?
