It’s just his voice! And it’s horrible when he talks rather than sings (the intro to Wide Awake, the “interview” at the end of Fevers and Mirrors [which I know isn’t really him but it sounds exactly like him]).
He’s one of those whose ambition I admire, whose skill I recognise, and whose influence I respect, but try as I might I simply cannot get into him. And I’ve tried so, so many times.
