Are any of her albums that aren’t Have You In My Wilderness worth listening to? That is such a spotless weirdo indie-pop record. I got the impression the others were a bit too artsy for my tastes, as Patrick Bateman would say.
I love ‘artsy’ Julia Holter so probably not your thing by the sounds of it tbh but give Loud City Song a try.
Odd, was about to bump this myself as listened to wilderness for the first time in ages.
Just love the sound of it, particularly Bandido and Lucette, just a really evocative sound.
Most of the rest of her stuff leaves me cold
I really adore Something in the Room She Moves, and I think that mostly stays fairly pop-aligned.
I’m an artsy shit though, ymmv
She calls it a companion to SITRSM. My expectations are unrealistically high.
fuckin ell didn’t see that coming
Lovely. It reminds me a bit of Mint Julep.
Just saw her post about Linda Perhacs going missing (removed from long term dementia care by a guardian then seemingly disappeared), tragic.
she’s been found safe and sound
New tracks are absolutely wonderful.
Just a phenomenal talent, isn’t she?
One of thise artists where I can’t get any handle on how she puts this stuff together.
Does anyone have any links to interviews/articles where she talks about her compositional process?
So, so good this.
Missed that this had actually came out now, it’s so beautiful!
What size is it?
Large..:.
How much do you want for it?
