Yeah, because the British Jewish community is a monolithic entity that all thinks the same and votes the same way.
Look, at the last general election most of my Jewish friends and myself voted for Labour because it represented something fresh, something exciting. But now we wonât. Not because of Israel - none of us are particularly bothered about criticism of Israel if it is genuine and doesnât slide into anti-Semitism, although the general consensus among our friendship group is that the BDS movement is counter productive - but because of how the Labour leadership has (mis)handled allegations of anti-Semitism. This shit should have been stamped out years ago. What was a smouldering fire has engulfed the party, leaving the Labour brand toxic, because of a lack of leadership and inertia at the top of the party.
Canât vote for them now, and I know non-Jews who feel the same way based upon this issue.
