It looks like they just voted down anything added on by other parties that wasn’t the main point of the bill, as they also quashed a Tory attempt to allow alcohol in the stands and a separate amendment for a compensation scheme for ex-players with dementia.
Probably not mate, no.
This argument is a bit “and yet you live in a society”, no?
I’m not really sure how I feel about any of this, but everything’s corrupt and run by total shits. I need to balance my want to still follow football with knowing it’s all essentially fucking awful.
And that’s just football.
Oh, that makes more sense, think I misunderstood your tone a bit at first
I’m really sleepy
The world cup has 100 years of sporting, cultural and social significance, that much like a club allegiance, is hard to shake if and when it becomes corrupted by evil money. I don’t really care about any country, but I’d love to be able to ditch my team and support someone based on ethical grounds, but it’s not really feasible.
The club world cup is laughable, unloved, entirely irrelevant and much easier to boycott and ignore on moral grounds.
(Imo)
Loved him on Krypton Factor
Think about it before you walk in the door first

I have no interest in a tourmament with shakey competetive merit which cuts a higger cheque the winner than la ligue thanks
Chelsea have already made close to 100m
Its fucking embarrassing
Lads, it’s all going to be fine… the UEFA Champions League began last night. Have yourselves nice cold pint of Gazprom and chill.
which of these games was the better attended:
- Víkingur 2-3 Lincoln Red Imps @ Klaksvík, Faroe Islands
- Total Network Solutions 0-0 Shkëndija @ Oswestry, England
- Virtus 0-2 Zrinjski Mostar @ Serraville, San Marino
also tonight we have the crunch clash between the champions of british ireland and the champions of irish ireland in a game that can be described as “kicking off at 7:45pm”
See Rashford responded to the request to not turn up to pre season training by turning up to pre season training
You’re not wrong, but I’m wondering what you reply when they say, ‘Don’t you continue to support a football team that’s bankrolled by the UAE?’
That’s my point, though, isn’t it. People who regularly tell City fans they’re dreadful seem to be engaging with this tournament free of conscience. Complete disconnect, don’t get it.
Jokes on you CWC haters, I just got a Thiago Silva Fluminense ‘Crowd Hero’ shiny #gotgotneed
Are many people engaging with this tournament? Feels like a bit of a straw man. I remember seeing it had comparable viewership to the Audi Cup pre-season tournament, during the group stage. I know we move in football nerd circles, but it seems broadly like a flop, in the UK at least.
Might as well add a poll
- Haven’t watched any of it
- It came on once while I was in a pub, but I tried to look away
- I cracked and watched a game or two
- I’ve been following it regularly
I’ve heard a couple of my work colleagues discussing it.
Watched the first game and then most of the 5 o’clocks as I get home from work about 4:45 but once they binned them off I couldn’t be arsed. Would happily never hear Will Grigg’s on fire Freed From Desire ever ever ever again.
