I kinda liked it even though it was very silly

Zulawski always feels like the cinematic equivalent of a panic attack

Didn’t really have a clue what was going on which is probably for the best

Not sure there’s a C Nolan film I didn’t enjoy to a decent degree but this is fucked

“In recent weeks, Warner, concerned about its Tenet investment, was leaning in favor of postponement, while Mr. Nolan, a fervent advocate for preserving the moviegoing experience, was more eager to press ahead. The discussions amounted to a fraught moment for Warner: Mr. Nolan is a proven moneymaker, and the studio wants to keep him happy.”

I can only assume the studio is saying they won’t release it to cinema unless it goes out in July…which is absolutely barmy but then I can’t really work out how else Nolan could think it opening in September or October (or whenever) means it won’t be opening in a cinema.

If say they wind up moving all big films to 2021 in the end, can cinemas even survive that?

Just put on The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

Mommie Dearest - Enjoyed this, really surprised it had such a negative reception. Yeah the main performance is really out there but it’s camp horror/comedy. Reading about it online, that seems like it maybe wasn’t the intention but whatever it’s still a blast.

If you haven’t heard it, the episode of You Must Remember This on Mommy Dearest is brilliant

As is the whole Crawford season, of course.

Not seen either, should be a decent saturday night.

Bastards is ace.

The Last Picture Show (1971)
Yeah this was fantastic, really enjoyed it. How about that cast eh? Not a bad performance in the house but the show was pretty much stolen for me by Ellen Burstyn in her few scenes, she was really something. Are any of Bogdanovitch’s others as good as this? There’s a sequel as well I notice. Any good? Will add a few of his to my list anyway.

I’m probably the only one that didn’t enjoy The Last Picture Show. I wanted to like it but it just didn’t click for me.

I did love Paper Moon though; that was brilliant.

Watched and quite liked Love (2015)

Paper Moon is an all-timer

Love is really underrated I think

the film is quite good too

Yeah I watched it with dead low expectations but I thought it had a real story and heart to it, and the sex scenes, whilst explicit, didnt always feel gratuitous and had a place.

Plus you have to admire the pure cheek of making it in 3D primarily to show the result of a handjob

What’s Up Doc and Paper Moon are both well liked, after that the quality of Bogdanovich’s films fell off a cliff by all accounts. Texasville (the very belated sequel to Last Picture Show) is meant to be rather forgettable.
