A great album by a seriously underrated artist. For anyone who’s not familiar with him there is a really great compilation called Six Strings That Drew Blood that covers his work with The Birthday Party, Crime and the City Solution, These Immortal Souls, solo and in various collaborations.

Love Rowland. A very gifted, mercurial, erratic, and quietly charismatic figure, never tire of watching footage of him. He’s my favourite ever guitar player due to the birthday party stuff he did.

He became an amazing songwriter in later years (never got the fuss around ‘shivers’ tbh), ‘Teenage Snuff Film’ is atg album for me. ‘Pop Crimes’ is merely excellent. All the bands/collaborations he did inbetween TBP and his solo career range from good to very good.
