That when I was at uni about a decade ago they made a point of saying you couldn’t reference wikipedia, but referencing any other website was fine.

Nah. You need to consider the validity of your sources no matter where they’re from.

Yes. That’s exactly what I’m saying. We weren’t allowed to reference Wikipedia but there were no restrictions on referencing any other websites.

I got in trouble for referencing unreliable sources in an essay I wrote about Chewbacca.

Got told to never reference Wookiepedia

Used Google Books for all my references

top tip just keep referencing the book that your professor wrote and you’ll get an A
