The YHWH Nailgun album is out
It’s a fine nail gun English, but tiz no Nailbomb.
Hate is reality. Don’t you know God hates?
Just listened, it’s alright. Found the drums a bit much after a while.
Yeah but if there wasn’t the drums it’d just be the silly vocals and farty synths
I really like them
Vocals kind of remind me of Kim Gordon’s solo stuff
Saw them live and was absolutely dreadful but something keeps me coming back to them.
Think I like the fact that there’s no bollocking about. All songs done in less than two and a half minutes.
But at the same time it’s nothing but bollocking about. A delicate balance.
At times it reminds me of the first Health album
Never heard of them till this thread, I think. Decided to start with their last EP yesterday morning, No Midwife and I Wingflap, before 45 Pounds. As well as all the other early stuff. Enjoyed the “album” too, listened again today, but I think I like the EP better. The tropical percussion on the latest is a little dominant, and not present on the older material. Reminds me of Palm’s last album Nicks and Grazes. But this is more industrial like Model/Actriz and Kim Gordon’s solo stuff (in large part due to the vocals). Like this overall, cool stuff. Could stand to be 10 minutes longer as an album.
Just sounds like Battles
BIG DRUMS
i like them
Yeah but they don’t fuck about for ten minutes
Think their best song is Look At Me Im Rainer. Not sure if that was on the EP you mention
Reminded me of still house plants…and whilst that’s not a favourable comparison (for me), I did at least find these guys more listenable. I’ll try again.
Now there’s a good band
Lot of people who are “into that kind of thing” don’t like the still house plants album I’ve noticed
Think I remember checking out some clips of that (the cover looks familiar) and coming to that conclusion myself. Trying these clips again now and…it’s the vocals that put me off. Musically I can get behind it but I don’t think I can deal with those vocals.
What is it you don’t like about them?
(Worried this reads as antagonistic. Just wonder)
