Kanye West - thread contains discussion of his racism and sexism.

Yeah it’s really good. Someone here suggested mixing Lunch Money, Numbers on the Board and Nosetalgia into the album to take it up to ten - and I LOVE listening to it like that.

Damn I’m gonna have to try that

Annnnnddddd… ladies and gentlemen we are BACK

In totally shocking news, Yandhi won’t be coming out in a few weeks after all. Maybe this album (if it ever happens) will actually sound finished? OK, maybe not…

I am shocked.

Either that or he still hasn’t actually started it.

Imagine if he actually took the time to write and finish a full album, properly. We’ll see, I guess.

As above, the album defs didn’t exist when he said it did. Pretty sure it was a weird troll/hype for the SNL appearance that got out of hand and backfired. The album title was from a fan tweet a couple of days before he announced, that said something along the lines of “wouldn’t it be dope if Kanye called an album Yandhi”. The cover art was Yeezus, with a different colour tape.

When he addressed what was in the album after the first missed deadline he said the album had concepts “like body-shaming and slut-shaming” i.e. basically the very loose concept of his pornhub song with Lil Pump, suggesting he didn’t actually have any other ideas or material.

Maybe it will actually spur him into making an album, and one that’s actually finished. Or maybe it will just never materialise.

Kanye will make another good LP in his career

  • Maybe, but not in the next 5 years

Are we counting collaborative stuff like Kids See Ghosts here?

Something released as a Kanye West album

That’s all

Good Ass Job as well

He did similar with Pablo though (as well as all the other titles it went under).

We were told that would be feel good cook out music, which sounded like it harked back to classic Kanye, then that it would be gospel inspired (only really evident on Ultra Light Beam).

I suppose it all speaks to him having one or two things cooking and then piling the rest in in the 48 hours before release.

I do believe he’ll make another great album, though. Even if his rep has to go all the way into the toilet first - all that good music over the years was no fluke. Obviously his rep is tarnished right now, but musically I’d argue he’s still basically in good health (despite personally not getting on with any of his recent releases, inc. KSG). People like Chance, Tyler etc still cite him as a huge influence and seem to love him unconditionally.

What’s interesting is that where the Odd Future and Brockhamton guys seems to be waiting for the Lil Xans, Lil Pumps & Tekashi 69s to burn out and blow over, Kanye has been desperate to attach himself to them. That could be his undoing if the generation he actually influenced sees him lamely going after the artistically empty one beneath them…

KSG and Daytona are the best things he’s done since MBDTF. Don’t @ me.
