I don’t mind kids see ghosts. It’s the worst of the 3 good ones of the 5

Yeah, same. I prefer listening to podcasts about Kanye West rather than actually listening to Kanye West.

this edit I did might be my fave 'ye after MBDTF

Standard post Yeezus Kanye. There’s the fibres of a decent interesting record here, but he hasn’t fleshed any of the ideas out & sounds like he’s recorded it in about 4 minutes this morning after he missed his own deadline.

He’s up there with my favourite artists of all time, and every time I think he’s definitely got enough left to give us one more great record. But then every time I doubt myself more.

He’s just gone hasn’t he? Needs a strong group of collaborators around him who can focus him on what he’s doing & make him finish something properly. He’s just surrounded by sycophants who’re happy for his continued journey up his own arse. No coincidence KSG prob his most consistent post Yeezus release, which is a properly collaborative record.

I’ll give it the weekend, but having been cautiously optimistic about this, first two plays pretty meh.

It’s got 5 or 6 of my favourite Ye songs. And that’s a high bar. But again he didn’t know how to finish it did he? Needs a producer & an editor if he’s ever gonna get back to what he was.

How has Rubin let this out. At the time of Yeezus it was like he was the saviour. Ever since he has been involved in nonsense. Actually, to the point I fear for RTJ4 (it has been recorded at Shngri-la, now Rubins, formerly The Bands studio)

It’s better than Ye.

sadly, completely appalling.

I read this a few times before I finally understood what you were saying. I think.

Listened to this a couple of times steaming drunk last night so might not be accurate but… Sounded a bit shite. Bit like ye 2: the religioning. Sketches of songs rather than songs, and too short to really amount to anything. Fewer and fewer new or interesting ideas. Sounds weirdly like a bedroom artist with a massive budget on both albums.

His albums have always faced massive delays, but that used to be to deliver the best record he could. His heart clearly isn’t in it. After all he made Late Registration in the same amount of time as this short EP, and that’s a 70 minute, sprawlingly ambitious opus.

The new Kanye sucks.

Kept an eye on the timetable cause it’s funny but I probably won’t even listen to this
