Karen

What is this (in an insult, not name, context) and why is everyone talking about it?

Is it to 2020 what “gammon” was to 2018 and “snowflake” was to 2016?

put me in a chair
fuck me, and make me a drink

I’m not sure I’m any wiser after this Kermit :frowning:

not sure what it is. think another one of those things where everyone’s like ‘this is bad, twitter is evil’ and then 2 months later they’re all using it too

“Karen” is an American(-ish) thing about People Who… want to speak to the manager, and is obviously funny and good, because it’s upsetting the right people.

:joy: the comparisons to the n word though

I hate it. Immediately think less of anyone using it.

I thought it came from that woman who called the police on the black people having a bbq. Might be wrong.

Really? I find it a bit insulting to women tbh.

Would be annoying if you were called Karen.

Like if Balonz became a slur instead of being shorthand for ‘mega-cool’.

Seems as good a synopsis as any

Seems to have a lot of the same energy as “OK boomer”.

I don’t know - I see it used on Twitter a lot by men basically using it to shut down women, regardless of what their argument is
