Ah fuck, that’s a real shock
Damn, that is a shock.
I met him one (and he was down to earth and very funny etc etc), he was genuinely very pleasant and engaging. My colleague once got to go interview him at his house, was meant to be there for an hour, and ended up spending all day with him going through his massive DVD collection and jamming on his expensive guitars.
Remains of the Day is pretty much a perfect book, I feel like I need to go read more now.
Wait?
How fucking weird

Kiyonemakibi’s fucked it
Well this thread was a narrative rollercoaster
classic Tommaso Debenedetti tbh.
I mean this Italian guy was clearly in it for the long haul, 14k followers for a fake account (maybe he just switched the names on an existing account, probably makes more sense).
It’s definitely gone a bit Mark Twain rumours.
Just been reading his wiki, seems like a real prankster
Sorry, I flagged it with the mods as soon as I heard
Even with the amended title I was still gutted reading the opening posts tbh.
Know it’s nobodies fault and it’s a good fake, but is it worth just binning the thread off altogether?
No, because I think it serves as a decent psa that the tweet is a fake. Editing the title a little more so that’s entirely clear
Anyone read Klara and the Sun? Really enjoyed that.
Not read Klara, and would never read the Sun.

I did and loved it! It’s the only book of his I’ve read so want to start working my way through his other books.
