I saw them on one of those four-random-bands nights loads of London venues used to do before their first single came out. I didn’t really like them but it was quite apparent they were going to be huge. Wish I’d bought some copies of that single to flip, I’m sure at some point it was going for £80-100 on eBay.

Do find it weird they were singled out for being posh at the time, when there were so many other examples. Maybe also being piano-led was just one step too far.

I like Bedshaped and Atlantic.

I remember when they first came out on Fierce Panda (with the big hits already) and yeh the songwriting is super strong whether you are a fan or not
