I don’t think there’s an author that gets me so excited to start a new novel of theirs than Erikson right now, especially if it’s a new Malazan. It used to be Iain Banks that I’d eagerly await every new release, but then he went and died.
I finished Dan Simmons’ The Terror yesterday and deliberately went to bed a bit earlier than usual to crack into this!
It’s genuinely brilliant, really funny & nowhere near as hard-going as it’s portrayed to be. Takes a little bit to get going, but once it does, it’s so good
