Kitchen Appliance Audit II

Following up from the moderately successful electrical kitchen appliance audit of 2018, let’s check on those non-electrical items we may or may not have hidden in our kitchen drawers somewhere.

NON-ELECTRICAL. People really had difficulty with this last time. If an appliance can have electric and non-electric version, it will be referring to the non-electric one. Definition of ‘appliance’ may be stretched somewhat.

Respect the format, please. Chat about non-electrical kitchen appliances welcome.

A fun thing I did recently was try to use ours to grease the frying pan for pancakes. Melted it.

Had a melon baller growing up and never even thought to question such a niche and pointless thing. Just thought it was a completely standard thing that of course every household would have, just the same as a wooden spoon.

Would love a hefty pestle and mortar, but y’know, life.

Almost bought one of these in John Lewis til I realised it was made with pig bristles.

Feel like there’s no non-electric kitchen appliance other than the tin opener that you can’t basically replace with with ordinary cutlery, a decent knife, and a big spoon.

I have not thought this through at all hit reply

I really don’t understand the mechanics of that.

Just an FYI, the term “boogaloo” is now a far-right thing particularly in the USA so it might be a good idea to tweak the title of this very wholesome thread

You pull up the handle and it break up the ice.
