No such thing!
Hah! Well Iāll measure it properly and weigh everything and work out how long itāll come out as and maybe Iāll put it to a vote on here if in doubt. Iām not all that happy with how itās come out at the changes in direction so if I have to start again it wonāt be the worst thing in the world.
Right, itās going to be 2m long, not accounting for any stretch. Itās not very wide, only 22cm, although will be narrower when stretched. Itās a gift so i want it to be nice, and Iām already unhappy with the bits where Iāve changed direction

Iāve got until Christmas but Iāve got a load of other things I want to knit for then. Iām leaning towards start again. I must have started it just before xmas.
Iām honestly all for super long scarves, but sounds like you wonāt really be happy with this version of it anyway. One of those times that Iād maybe try to take it as a learning experience and start again even if thatās extremely boring.
Iāve bought the same yarn in a bunch of colours so Iāll have a better idea how wide to make the rest
Always wanted a traditional quilt but never going to make one so Iām doing a crochet version instead. Love some of the color combos so far
Finished this boring one way before I intended as I ran out of the wool I wanted for the last few rows and border but refused to buy a new ball so its not got a very good complete look with a lighter border but so glad to see the back of it
Looks good! Howās your quilt one going?
I stitched some bits together of the first panel but decided the more muted natural colours that looked good in my mind need some jazzing up with a few brighter ones so Iāve ordered a few brighter greens and so not much progress until they arrive. Enjoying the pattern though and its nice changing colours and doing different combos.
Need to get a daytime shot as it looks much better in natural light
Any particular reason why youāre using those needles rather than circulars? Making me nervous seeing how close the stitches are to the end of the needle
I find straight needles easier to knit with. Thereās loads of room, Iāve just spread out the stitches there for the photo
Is it just me who finds circular needles absolutely impossible to knit with I havenāt knitted for years but when I did I just couldnāt master them. My tension was always far too tight I think. Such a failure
Not a failure, just different ways of doing things! I quite like circulars, but I know I thought they were weird when I was first trying them out when I was way younger ā especially as I wouldnāt init in the round anyway. But different needles suit different people! There are even rectangular needles now, meant to be better for people with hand pains apparenty.
Anyway Iāve been doing a lot of baby knitting (again) recently as my BFF had her new baby last weekend. Need to put the last finishing touches on some things and then Iāll post them. Right now Iām knitting a hat for myself with reflective yarn:
Bit anxious to see if I have enough of the same colour for the entire hat
Reader, she did not.
BUT at least I realised in time it wouldnāt be enough, so using up some other colours of the same yarn for stripes. Good to use up some of the masses of yarn Iāve collected in the last few months!
