Onto magazines. Today is one for the crochet lovers
I have the yarn to make my friend the lobster. I’m also tempted by that functionless shawl… And very impressed by the dragonfly Afghan.

I made one in 2023 With an HST on it. Username does check out.
I need to add lots of duplicate stitch detail but this had been sitting in timeout for a good five months because intarsia is so damned tangly so I’m very pleased with my progress.
Amazing work! I do miss knitting for the pattern potential. That looks so fab and i love the colours
Keeping on theme with my intarsia post here are some sweater designs my friend gave me.
I covet many, have attempted none. Particularly humpty Dumpty, he may become a tapestry in the near future.
I found out from this pattern collection that “ride a cock horse” is a thing. Excuse me?
^ clearly never been to Banbury Cross!
Went into Hobbycraft, ended up buying all the yarn for a blanket and a cardigan, got some 3 for 2 offers on yarn then the woman on the till said I’d get 15% off if I signed up for a loyalty card which it turned out I actually already had and didn’t know but she got her manager to give me the 15% anyway.
Woo!
What i’ve now realised, of course, is that the pattern i had in mind is using Tunisian hooks so I’ve just blown the savings and then some ordering a set.
Tunisian crochet is one of not very many fibre crafts I’ve never attempted. Let us know how it goes!
Read recently it’s got nothing to do with Tunisia and nobody knows why it’s called that
Same! I’ve seen some nice patterns before and always fancied trying. I’ll report back!
Been on a toy and amigurumi run lately between cardigan progress
First two for a friend’s kids, second two for disers
Another washbag. Decided to crochet continuously where I’d done sewn seams last time…only now realising the seams help its structure
Got a few more to make and a load of other bits for an event at school a week on Friday
Adjusted the hat pattern - more rows, fewer stitches - and I think this is going to both fit and prevent me running out of wool. However it’s a different wool so I may need to knock a couple more stitches off when I remake it with the green and pink wool that I was using for the previous attempt
So cute I love this little bear creature holding a strawberry
Squirrel? Excuse my poor understanding of plushie categorisation.
It is meant to be a hamster, but also it didn’t turn out quite like the image despite retaining cuteness (think my tension was too high)
Made a shopping bag to see if it was enjoyable/fast etc
It was neither (but i used some yarns that look a bit like neopolitan ice cream)
Today is one for the crochet lovers. Personally there’s not a whole lot I’d make from this magazine, better off to leave that Edwardian inspired late 80s early 90s aesthetic to the coffers of history imo
My mum was like an industrial production line of doilies in the 80s and 90s. I guess they are probably a satisfying small project to make, quick, not too repetitive etc.
Soooo yesterday I bought yarm and cast on for this crazy bitch:

That picture’s not the original pattern version, but this is the version that really spoke to me so my colours are pretty similar to this one (but not identical).
Sure to be super fiddly with the combination of intarsia and stranded colourwork, and entirely worked flat. So I’ve no doubt a lot of swearing and deep frustration will be involved but I’m feeling really excited about this in a way I haven’t for several of my recent knitting projects!
I don’t know if you remember this @froglet but you were the first person to explain intarsia to me somwhere near the beginning of this thread, so I always think of you when I come across it!
Gorgeous. This make me miss knitting.
