You’re being incredibly productive these days!!
Because I
a) have more important stuff to be doing
b) I’ve got a crochet stall at school on Friday about sustainable living
That’s lovely
Progress:
About to start the intarsia colourwork panels
Edit: Ohh nope, got one more plain compurwork border first!
That’s stunning already. Those colours are so lovely.
I have both won and lost yarn chicken:
Won, I finished rounds with this much left of each colour
Lost, I haven’t axtually finished the cardigan I need to bring in a third colour (think it works though at least)
(Baby cardigan)
I don’t really do crafts but I’m making a yoga knee pad out of old t-shirts that I’m knitting together
Lots of lovely stuff in this thread!
this is stunning, omg. As someone who can barely knit a straight row, my mind is blown
I’ve learned it all (well, most) from the internet
As I’m working, it feels like I’m really struggling with tension — working all thise different bits from both sides means a lot of changes on each row! But then I look at the front like this and I’m just super pleased. Plus it’s pure wool so a nice wash and a bit of blocking will help with any unevenness.
I’m adding some increases on each side as I get closer to the chest area, the pattern is just the same all the way up but shaping suits me better. Think I might go a little longer (like one more repeat of the front centre colourwork pattern) as well because of being tall.
I know that I’m going to be so sick of this by the end but I’m really enjoying it for now!
A work of art
It’s super interesting (if you’re a nerd like me) to look at all the different versions of it on Ravelry/insta. They all give suuuch different vibes — the original pattern in like pastel purples is just kind of cutesy, some are super dramatic, one is almost all green. But these were definitely the right colours for me though
It’s looking lovely.
I don’t find I get bored of all-over colour work or cables even if it is just the same repeats because it’s more satisfying to see it grow than plain stockinette, for example.
I personally find the most annoying thing about intarsia to be yarn management, even with small spools I find they get more twisted and tangled than I’d like.
I saw a method for trying to avoid tangling when doing intarsia that look potentially useful;
Going to try it out when I do a larger tapestry crochet sometime
I’m travelling with a tapestry crochet project and finding it quite annoying, but I’ll definitely try this when I get back home, thank you!
