See, laser & eyes is just a wincing word combination. Sounds awful. They should call it ‘fixie eye lights’ or ‘eye cleaning’ or something. Then if someone asks what it actually entails they can say “Ummm, don’t worry about it. It works most of the time”

Don’t listen to him the cheaper and faster the better. In fact I’ll do it for free, with a laser pen from the pound shop

I got a travelzoo tetanus and my jaw still moves a bit

Was gonna post that gif where Homer gets his eyes lasered but it’s quite disgusting.

A friend of mine had it done around the same time as you. She worked on one of those tacky women’s magazines and so she had it done for free so that she could write about it and the magazine would also get paid advertising from the company that did it. She’s still not wearing glasses again.

at uni, our optics lecturer did a class on laser eye surgery, told us how each type worked and what it did etc., and how it was great. but then he wore glasses and said he wouldn’t get it done himself, which i always thought was a bit odd.

i quite fancy getting rid of my glasses one of these days, used to wear contacts but had issues so maybe i should have a look at this.

Might wanna put your glasses on first m9 lol.

always wanted to use that

I don’t regret it, although I’m wearing specs again they’re not the bottle bottoms I was wearing before and I only really have to wear them for reading, watching tv and using a computer (which is most of my day!)

There was an amusing moment just after I’d had it done, I was getting the train home and was getting a couple of amused looks and then realised, I had a big cotton wool patch over one eye and (being an amputee) had a hook instead of my left hand, all I needed was a parrot on my shoulder!

Had it done a couple of years ago, been amazing so far.
Although it’s surprising how quickly you take having perfect vision for granted. After couple of days I didn’t really think about it much again.

Nice one KR. Sounds like I should give this a go. How bad was your vision before the op?
