Listened to the debut Ramones album today for probably the millionth time (minor exaggeration but not far off). The one-two whammy of I Don’t Wanna Walk Around With You blending into Today Your Love, Tomorrow The World just cements it as a 10/10 album (for me).
Made me think for the first time that it’s almost like a black and white feel of Slayer - Reign In Blood, with that amazing one-two ending of Postmortem / Raining Blood, which likewise cements RIB being another 10/10.
Two tracks that not only end an album, but confirm its brilliance and take it that little but further into Classic Album territory. Any more?

a truly terrible name for a band which is probably why I’d never really listened to them despite them being mentioned fairly often as a good emo band therefore my kind of thing
in maybe 2019 I discovered that their 2014 album was really good, but digging further I wasn’t a fan of the other albums
anyway, a while later in 2021 they released a new album and the emo thread was full of people saying it was really good despite the last two tracks being long
what the fuck was this? an emo band who didn’t do long songs had released an album where the final two tracks were 15 and 19 minutes each?
nah, there’s no way it’ll be any good
eventually enough people had said it was good that I figured I’d have a go and I really can’t tell you how shocked I was that not only the entirel album brilliant, the last two tracks are actually best ones
