I have reacted to cabbage parcels three (3) times in the Masterchef thread. I’m going to go with cabbage parcels.

Ah fuck.

@safebruv I retract my beardy wanker statement.

They’re not really new are they? Egg yolk ravioli was the wanky novelty last year but there’s not really been one this year

Somehow I seem to have escaped ever seeing one! There’s been two bread icecreams (one buttered toast, one sourdough) and a couple of tempura egg yolks.

*This is not a complete list

Most ‘trendy’ food isn’t exactly new anyway

They do charcoal juice in Pret.

Ha, I was going to say jackfruit and chips, instead of fish & chips! Stereo in Glasgow do a really good version of this.

Can someone explain jackfruit to me so I don’t have to google it?

Ate a lot of halva in Israel, it’s good innit. Kinda claggy, peanut butter kinda texture.

Kinda.

Kinda.

It’s so nice. This place just has loads and you can just take a little chunk of that one and a little of that one. The best flavour (surprisingly) was cinnamon.

It’s a fruit that can have a kind of pulpy, stringy texture and not much flavour, so you can theoretically cover it in barbecue sauce and pretend like it’s pulled pork.

Ooh cinnamon does sound good, mainly went for pistachio.

It’s just like stringy slightly chewy and a bit fruity but not loads.

Hmm. I find the idea of pretending that vegan/veggie stuff is meat but not a bit weird tbh. I’ll maybe give it a try because I can’t imagine a fruit tasting like pork at the moment.
