NGL, did not see that coming…
Fits with the main stage headliners being Radio 2 friendly these days I guess

Reminder that Snow Patrol and Damien Rice headlined the first two editions of Latitude, Pet Shop Boys in 09? etc. Always had that angle.
Surprised that Orbital haven’t played previously - assume they’ll be headlining the tent. Not seen London Grammar before but like their stuff…
Went for the first time last year and had a great time. Waiting on more acts and the stage splits before committing this year. If Duran Duran headlined the main stage one day, and Orbital and Nile Rodgers were tent headliners on the others, I could be tempted without even knowing anything else.
Looks like the stocktake from the Oxfam CD shelf!
*which is where I tend to buy CDs.
To be fair, most years there’ll be something worth seeing somewhere at any time. It’s just this is one of those festivals where much of it isn’t on the main stage.
Saw Nile Rogers & Chic at Bestival about ten years ago and they were phenomenal…
Oh yes. I’ve seen him three times and feel the same way I did about the one time I saw Burt Bacharach, which is to say I thought as each new song started “…and this one was you as well, you’re taking the piss”!
That is EXACTLY the reaction that the TV and I had!
Chic would be great, so would orbital. I know the lineup gets better as more acts are added but I can’t get behind Keane, Duran Duran, Kasabian as a set of main stage headliners in 2024 for a £300 ticket.
I wouldn’t mind seeing Duran Duran. The other two are not for me yet are probably bigger ticket draws nowadays. Waiting to see a bit more of the broken down stage lineup.
I saw Duran Duran back in 2012. Their set is wall to wall bangers although Simon Le Bon is a massive prick…
Line-up actually looking a bit more fleshed out now…
Particularly pleased that Lankum are there as the TV got into them over Christmas and have been a bit annoyed at missing tickets for their London shows. Excited for Corrine Bailey Rae as Black Rainbows was one of my surprise albums of last year. Nice comedy line-up as ever. Also, don’t think I can kid myself that I won’t watch The Darkness…
Of course you’ll watch The Darkness. They remain supremely entertaining.
NB. Putting Nile Rodgers and Ash at the same time: not cool.
Some more:
Frank Turner is one of the few artists that I actively dislike. That said, pleased with the additions of Alison Goldfrapp and Beak>. Few other acts that I’ve not seen that I would check out…
And some more…
Looking like we might not actually make this year, which will be the first non-Covided one we’ll have missed since 2016
I loved it last year (my first time) despite some minor reservations (the corporate stuff was extremely in your face) but sadly we can’t do it this year either. I particularly loved that it was a wet weekend and yet didn’t descend into a mudbath like every other festival that took place at the same time.
Yeah, the Barclaycard stuff has got extremely aggressive over the past few years
As you say though, was incredible given the amount of rain on the Saturday to wake up on Sunday and the whole place to have dried out.

(It’s about Barclays and Palestine)
