The low income day tickets is a cool idea

Really hope I can get a ticket. Don’t want to have to rely on resale.

I realise it is not yet complete for this year, but the Le Guess Who line-ups are getting more and more avant-garde and obscure. Around 2014-16, when I went, it was quite a bit more esoteric than ATP/Primavera but the headliners were still biggish indie-rock names – Wilco, Deerhunter, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Swans, St Vincent etc. It feels like they’re spending way less money on the line-up, which puts me off (though not as much as the cost of accommodation in Utrecht).

Yeah feel like this is too much on the esoteric side for me. When I went I. 2018 it was pretty much slap bang between ATP-aping and what it is now, which was perfect for me.

They pivoted to making it more about new music a few years back. I generally find the ones that have less stuff that I already know are the ones I enjoy the most, because I discover so much great new stuff.

I get it’s not for everyone, but I think it’s still a brilliant festival and the ticket is great for the price. Unfortunately they can’t keep the hotel costs down in the same way…

That’s a good line up. Not C2C good but still good.

Most of C2C played LGW last year tbf.

A few of them are playing C2C and all, I think. Festival swaps.

annoying thing about LGW is that I live close enough that it’d feel silly spending loads on a hotel but far enough away that it’s a pain going back and forth from. Always just end up getting a day ticket cos of that, will probably do that again

Think there is a definite shift in programming at Le Guess Who compared to the festival as was up until 2019 (maybe 2021). It is more popular than ever so they are doing something right. 90% of the line up this year is unknown to me though - which has benefits and drawbacks.

I can’t get used to the high price of hotels in Utrecht now, so doubt I’ll go again (I went every year 2012 - 2019).

I was at Rewire in Den Haag in April and it was incredibly busy with long lines for more popular shows. It seems like this whole style of festival is really healthy.

Looks like weekend tickets have sold out

Blimey. That’s incredibly fast even if there were only a few left.

Managed to get 2

I forgot about it, until my mate messaged at 10.10 to say he’d got one, and they’d sold out. Tickets were all reserved, came back at some points, but payment failed.

Quite amazing how quickly it sold out considering how experimental/lesser known the line up is this year.

Really excited for it again. Not sure I’ll go in 2025 so glad I managed to get a ticket today
