didn’t see what happened with the first… the 2nd though was awful

cav’s still on the ground too, not good

cheeky elbow from sagan

That Sagan elbow looked very bad in slow motion

Seems as though he’s blaming Greipel for edging towards him. Sagan’s elbow seems to go out as a counter-balance.

I think we all agree that sprints at 70km are a bit mental and slowing it down to 3 frames a second is going to make everything look worse.

fractured shoulder apparently :frowning:

From Lotto-Soudal team manager Marc Sergeant:

Furthermore, he announces that Greipel, by all accounts one of the nicest blokes in the peloton, has told him that from this day on, he will no longer be friends with Peter Sagan.

This sounds like when schoolgirls fall out with each other.

Sagan does seem to lean into Greipel for no reason here tbf

idk the elbow looked like it came after cav was already crashing

been looking for some super slo-mo gifs on twitter but haven’t found any yet

  • Racing incident
  • Sagan at fault and deserves punishment

I’ll comment after I’ve seen it, but initial impression is racing incident and both parties in the wrong

bike wankers

Racing incident, but really feel for Cav who didn’t do anything wrong. Demare cutting across the other riders immediately afterwards on the other hand

Actually just seen an overhead replay that makes the Demare move look better than the front on angle…

Sagan dqed from the tour. Woah!!

Yeah. Wow.

Not sure I’ve ever seen a stage with such a huge difference in drama from during the stage to after it.

that is huge

however, from this angle (and I know it’s slowed down and is only really a few seconds) it’s really not that clear what he’s moving away from and his elbow definitely seems to go out as he approaches Cav…

it definitely looks bad

Having looked at it a million times now I’m pretty sure they both thunk they’re on demares wheel, and sagan has no idea where Cavendish is until it’s too late. Sagan at fault but DQ is completely OTT
