Yessir, depends on how sky ride Peyresourde. They’ve kept the break on a short leash on the mountain passes. Cummings definitely strong to stay out if Sky stay at this pace though.

How come some mountain breakaways riders are so low in the GC? Like if they’re good at climbing why is their overall time so bad? Or is it that they only have one or two good climbs in them?

I like him, but if I was a pro, he might be a tad annoying to have in the team. Loves to sit at the back of the bunch, doesn’t really get stuck in with work chasing groups and breaks, then goes on a massive mountain raid every so often.

Classy rider though, carved out a great niche and really found a great team that allows him to ride as he wants

If they stay high on GC, the teams of the podium contenders won’t let them in the breaks to gain the points. They will deliberately lose time (Barguil is 14 mins down, pinot and Rolland lost buckets of time) just so they’ll be allowed to ride the mountain breaks without being deemed a threat to GC teams
