Finally found someone who can give me directions based on my photos. Got a memory, upgraded my armor and finally feel like I’m making progress. Still enjoying dicking about though, honestly dont think I’ve ever enjoyed exploring a game so much.

Finally made it to Hateno village. Decent size village for a Zelda game. Man, when I unlocked the map at the tower and could see the whole region, it just blows your mind how big the game is. You just realise you are in a small section, and it’s going to take you all day to explore it.

Starting to enjoy combat more now I’m not so shit and I’ve worked out which weapons to use on which enemies. Also, they aren’t breaking as quick, but I’ve mastered the quick menu enough to make it not a problem now anyway. It helps that I’ve got a stash of heart refill meals to stop me dying.

Yeah the combat clicked for me last night too. Managed to repel, dodge and time my jumps far better.

The rain in this is a fucker eh? Found an AMAZING looking city last night, took 30 minutes to reach it and scaled a huge mountain to get within 10 foot of it. Then it rained solidly. FOR AN HOUR.

Ended up rage quitting and going elsewhere.

Seem incapable of finding people, quests, memories or storyline progression in this game. Have 20+ korok seeds and about 10,000 rupees worth of gemstones though…

Stamina for me! Seems way more useful. Now I’ve got climbing gear though I’m probably good for the foreseeable.

Been focusing on hearts in attempt to avoid so many one shot deaths. Only have 7 hearts still mind you. That’s a hell of a lot of rupees! My combat is okay, finally getting the hanf of Focus and slow motion arrowing.
Had another look around Lanaryu and the 3 trees last night mate and found the cave you’d been looking for. Once your at the third tree face towards the ocean making sure the trees are in a straight line behind you and then keep going forward. There is a korok icon close to the way your headed and when you activate that glide towards the gold ring in the air. From your position now drop down off the ledge. Theres a Lizalfos or two here and some trees. The cave is covered by boulders so use a bomb. Hidden shrine in there. it’s definitely worth checking out if you can fast travel nearby: you get climbing boots in there which make you climb faster
Found my 2nd horse ranch last night and had some horse based combat with some bokoblins.
2 found memories down. If you need hints as to where these are: The painter in Hateno village will give you hints and from finding my 2nd it looks as though you’ll find him in other locations too

Stamina, you can eat stuff before combat or sleep on a soft bed for more hearts.

Yeah I spoke to that guy. Just cannot find a way to get up that mountain on Lanaryu though as I have no Peppers left. Must be a thermal bit of clothing around somewhere I guess? Will try again…

!!! The rain - if you’re where I think you are, that rain is part of the plot and deliberate, so don’t bother to hang around, try something different!

Yeah I got that impression after a while! Used up countless stamina boosts and an hour trying to get the last 10 foot up to a ledge, but it wasn’t letting me. Bloody tons of ore deposits around there though, so that was one minor plus.

I’ve gone for one of each so far. I have so many heart replenishing meals and fairies and have upgraded my clothes I don’t really have to worry about heart so much. Stamina helped my up the Hatena Tower…

Has anyone had any luck with guardians yet? I’ve got myself 8 hearts and thought time to give them a go, I even got given an item that said it would help, but no, deeeeaaaatttthhhhh.

Came across some variety in them though, implying that there is many ways for them to insta-kill you!

Lots of sunshrooms around Hateno and peppers are near the base of Mt Lanryu in the bit past the gate where you get a memory and where that annoying as fuck centaur lad hangs out

Just got to the top of Mt Lanayru too after this thread reminded me I couldn’t make it up there when I first found it.

Fucking Hell.

Maybe one of my favourite moments in any game…

Killed my first guardian. Turns out the trick is to shoot in the eye with an arrow as it lines up a shot and use a weapon with high attack speed such as a one handed sword to hack off it’s legs and also managed to kill a small group of lightning wizards to get to the top of the tower. Starting to feel slightly more powerful now and finally, in a position where I’m always running around with like 100 arrows helps a lot.

Now that I have 2 wheels worth of Stamina I think it’s the time to start stacking hearts!
